Limerick’s Best Breakfast Spots
Breakfast, the most important meal of the day… So, whether you are an avo smash fan or need a hearty full Irish to get your day off to a good start, our list of Limerick’s best breakfast spots is full of varied and delicious dietary options and of course coffee, tea and atmospheric delightfulness.
Ma’s Kitchen
Located in the Milk Market but open 7 days a week, Ma’s kitchen sure is great value. One of the best full breakfasts in the city with no scrimping on ingredients. We love that you can get your full Irish breakfast and coffee for under the €10 mark. Saturday is super busy of course but it is often overlooked mid-week! Trust us, it is worth a visit!
The Buttery
Hazel, Joe and The Buttery team have done an amazing job of the past 4 years turning The Buttery into one of the most talked about brunch venue’s in the country! The beautiful décor, great music and varied menu has something for everyone and is a great family friendly place to visit for breakfast. Breakfast is served daily from 8am and includes a healthy Full Irish, Pancakes, French Toast and some of the nicest coffee in the city. A tad on the pricier side but it makes up for it in location and atmosphere.

Canteen
Informal seating with large tables and counter tops, Canteen is known for its delicious healthy food and friendly staff. It is an informal spot to eat with plenty of business people having a quick bite or take away coffee (which is delicious coffee by the way), it never disappoints in quality of food and dietary options! Their French toast is to die for and the green eggs and ham are delicious too!

The Belltable Café
Great to see this café open again. The food is extremely tasty and full of flavour. The poached eggs on sour dough bread with smoked salmon black pudding and lots of other flavours is delicious. Their fresh homemade scones with jam with cream are a joy. They are doing a fantastic job and one of the places we want to shout about and let everyone know they are serving fantastic food and you should pay a visit to.
Horse & Hound
Here is the place to get a bang up dirty Irish Breakfast, you know that good soakage breakfast that has you sorted for the day! Lashings of toast and soda bread and pots of coffee, friendly staff and locals that chat about the random things in life! Great value with breakfast under the €10 mark but it’s not really for the health conscious, the place to go the morning after the night before!

Alexfindlater
Swavy business types enjoying avo and poached eggs with side helping of guacamole or bacon strips on sourdough with grilled tomatoes. Pricey at €9 excluding coffee but incredibly tasty. It is a great spot for a business meeting and their takeaway coffee and cake option is worth the €5 mark. Highly recommended.
